Clinic Details
Contact: Jana Brady, (540) 289-5587 cell: (901) 828-3649
Dates: June 16-17, 2012
Time: Start at 8:00 am each morning, end about 4:30pm
Location: Patriot Hill Farm, 605 Mt. Olivet Church Rd, Elkton, VA
From the North or South: Take Interstate 81 to Exit 247B at Harrisonburg, VA. Follow Exit sign pointing to Elkton. If you are exiting I-81 at 247B from the north, you will go under an over pass. The exit ramp is just as you pass under the overpass and is a really tight loop so slow down or you'll hit the exit going too fast. The ramp will take you east on to Market St which becomes Spotswood Trail. Drive ___ until you see an Exxon Station on your left and Mt. Olivet Church on your right. There will also be a large "Massanutten Resort" sign on your left. Turn right at the intersection light, on to Mt. Olivet Church Rd. (next to the Church). Go straight about 2,000 yards until you swing to the right, go over a Rail Road track, and then you will swing back to your left. You will pass one small house and a pasture on your right. At the end of the pasture you will see a road to the right (Waterloo Mill Rd). My house is at this intersection, (the only 2-story white traditional farm house, with 605 on the mail box.) From the East: Take I-64 to I-81 and follow the North-South directions. Or..if you are coming from north Charlottesville or points north along HWY 29...you can come over the Blue Ridge via HWY 33. Once you pass the Elkton exit on Hwy 33 just continue 3 miles west to the intersection where the Exxon station will be on your right and Mt. Olivet Church will be on your left. Turn at the Church on Mt. Olivet Ch. Rd. and follow the directions above. From the West: Take I-64 to I-81 and follow the North-South directions. I would not recommend HWY 33 unless you are within 30 miles. HWY 33 over the WV mountains can be slow going! All attendees: Turn in the driveway and go through the gate and toward the gate by the garage and duck house. (I'll have signs). Park in the paddock. You can walk through the training ring gates to the carport shelter where we will set up. |
What should I bring?
a. Pop-up? (there will be a carport shelter next to the training ring), hat, sun block and sun glasses, comfy chair, stock stick if you are working. Bug Spray is always handy.

b. There will be a light breakfast of fruits, coffee, tea, breakfast snacks for all attendees.

Weather:
June in the Shenandoah Valley can be quite warm and variable. We will have the Clinic regardless, unless it is currently lightening with heavy rain. In the event of casual showers, we will just stay under the garage cover or will go in the house for discussions until the showers pass. |

Clinic Considerations 1. Dogs must be quiet and under control. For the neighbors sake, if your dog tends to bark, please leave them at home or we will have to crate them in the barn (check with me prior to coming to reserve space which will be limited). 2. Please pick up after your dog, this is our home. 3. Observe proper dog etiquette and courtesy when your dog is off-leash. If your dog is under control and dog friendly, you can unleash take them when in the mowed field to run and play. 5. *Clinic payment is refundable only in the event of natural disaster, weather related events (not to include rain) or if I have an alternate list. Bitches in season welcome but must be crated in a separate area (we will have shaded crate space in the barn). |

**Private Lessons with Joyce Norris: TBA Joyce will be available for private lessons the week before the clinic. Lessons will be about 30 minutes of instructional time but spread out over about an hour with intermittent breaks. I will try to pair 2 students over a 1 hour interval so each can take a break while the other works their dog. Lessons can be scheduled anytime during the day ending about 8:30pm. If you would like to schedule a lesson with Joyce, just send me your time preference and I will try to pair you up with someone. You will pay Joyce directly when you finish your lesson ($35).
